Healthy, fast cell division produces attractive, smooth skin - as we see in children and young people. As you grow older, that process slows down and your skin becomes less smooth. It usually starts around the age of thirty. If you are to keep an attractive skin, you must nourish the cells. It is important to eat healthy food and to drink at least two litres (8 to 10 glasses) of water a day. You also need to eat good, unsaturated fats. Cells need fat to keep their walls soft and permeable, enabling nutrients to be absorbed properly and then easily leave the cell as waste. Bad fats make the cell walls hard and impermeable, meaning they can't retain moisture and, ultimately, die. In chapter 9 'Beautifiers' you can find more information on good and bad fats.
